The Pizza Lounge Restaraunt located off of main street just down the street from the Starbucks is a nice little pizza joint. The venue itself is small in size with a full bar area, inside seating, and a nice outdoor patio with seating. The menu features diverse food from salads (pizza of course) and some select BBQ entries. It’s probably worth mentioning that the menu also said BBQ lounge which I thought was funny. Maybe the place is having a little bit of an identity crisis?
The Service
When I first walked in I was immediately greeted by a server who asked where I wanted to be seated. I decided to eat outside since food is always better outside. He told me to pick anywhere I want so I chose a seat by the sidewalk in the outdoor patio. Since the place wasn’t that busy when I arrived he was also prompt on taking my beer order and getting my beer fast which I always appreciate. The food server was a different server but also came out and took my order promptly. The food on the other hand took a little while to be delivered. Also sometimes there is too much service which I guess is what comes with two waiters. You can only ask how the food is so many times before it gets annoying. Also after the Cesar salad I ate the server asked me if I wanted dessert. I found this strange since I also ordered a pizza. I have to mention that I also heard the food server mess up or confuse two other orders while outside. Since there were three table seated outside being serviced by the same waiter that means he had a 100% order confusion rate. He then left and came back out about two minutes later. To add fuel to the fire he then came out and explained to me that he put the order in but the “Mexicans” lost the ticket. Not only was the comment racist, it made no sense as to why he could not remember what I ordered. Additionally he took another 10 minutes to deliver the pizza that was “almost ready”. I also interviewed another patron sitting at the next table to me an he joked “is he drinking the beer or me?” indicating how bad the one server was.
Service Score: 1 out of 5
This is only because the server who got my drinks was attentive and friendly.
The Beer
Normally I don’t write about the beer selections at most restaurants because they usually seem to be quite mundane, however they had 18 beers on tap and none of them were what I would normally order. I decided to try the Maui Brewing Company Mana Wheat beer which was very mild, but good as well. Unfortunately it was too mild for me so I also tried the Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier which I was told was “the oldest beer in the world”. Don’t fact check that one though until
I do since I don’t believe him. This beer was also very good.

The Food
I started my dinner off with a caesar salad which I consider to be a typical Casey trademark move. If I go somewhere that serves a good Cesar salad I am usually hooked. The salad here was good but didn’t have any special redeeming quality to it. It’s the kind of Cesar salad you would expect at a typical restaurant with nothing that really stood out to me. Sure I’ll eat it again but I probably won’t remember it. The pizza on the other hand was very good! I had the pepperoni, sausage, and mushroom pizza which was very tasty.
Food Rating: 4 out of 5
All in all the food and beer were good but the service was so bad I have a hard time recommending this place to anyone. After reading their Google Places reviews and Yelp reviews it seems that my experience was not the typical experience. Since this was the case I decided to contact the restaurant and will let you know what they say.
Total time at Restaurant: 2 hours!
