Going to a good Greek restaurant is always a great treat. Since I live south of Denver in Parker, there was not a lot of good Greek Places nearby (until Opa Grill) opened up last year. However last night I found myself visiting the Landmark area off of Bellview in Greenwood Village with a friend. We met up there are started to look at the food places the area had to offer. The food ranged from Buffalo burgers to sushi, but we decided to visit Yanni’s located at 5425 Landmark Place, Greenwood Village, CO 80111.
Should You Go?
Unlike some reviewer’s I like to put the conclusion near the start of the review so you can make a quick decision. Overall Yanni’s was a good greek restaurant that had a great selection of traditional Greek food dishes. I would recommend visiting this place if you enjoy good Saganaki and Gyros. Their tzatziki sauce could use a little work in my opinion since I like OPA Grill’s better. You will enjoy the food if you visit Yanni’s Greek Restaurant.
The Atmosphere
When you walk in you are greeted by a nice bar area where people can have a full dinner or just a drink. The restaurant itself is smaller but nice.
Drink Selections
They had a decent sized wine selection, along with a full bar to make any type of drink. Their beer selection was not very big, but they did have Paulaner (A German Beer), which just happens to be my favorite.
Food Selections
Their menu is very diverse. Being in the mood for traditional greek food that I am framilar with I decided to start off with the Appetizer Saganaki. This melted cheese is brought flaming to your table. When they deliver the flaming cheese they pour lemon on it and say “OPA!”. This along with their free bread was very delicious and surprisingly large. Since I went with just one friend I felt like I ate way too much cheese for one person. After this I ordered the Gyro plate with a side salad. The side salad was a delicious mix of greens, onions, feta cheese, and a delicious dressing. I ate the salad pretty quickly because it was so good. The gyro plate was a piece of warm pita bread that took up the entire plate. On top of this was the Gyro meat across the entire pita served with onions and tomatoes. They also served this dish with a side of the tzatziki sauce. Overall the food was very delicious.
